Nao Restaurant invited SA Flavor to a reception last night, introducing their new menu of Peruvian food. My friend Amanda and I were able to attend and try out a few of the appetizers and cocktails. Drinks and tasty food are always a good combination!
We started the evening with a nice glass of wine. They were sampling a Malbec, which is our favorite! The menu sounded very interesting. We were able to try the two appetizers and a cocktail. The staff were all very knowledgeable about the menu items and the history of Peruvian food. Nao is a beautiful and hip, playing music like The Black Keys and Muse that really made an enjoyable atmosphere. Our first taste of the menu was the Peruvian appetizer, Crab Causa. I liked the hint of lime and olive flavors. It was a cold appetizer, so it shocked us, but it was refreshing! The bartender then made each of us a Peruvian cocktail called a Pisco Sour. Pisco is a brandy made from grapes from Peru. The drink was delicious and tasted a bit like lime sherbert! Amanda said, “well, I could drink that everyday!”
The final taste of food was the Creamy Quinoa with Chicken. We both loved this appetizer! It was flavorful and had a lot of texture.
