The Pearl Brewery has done it again—Hotel Emma is as elegant as it is enchanting.
I got a chance to stop by the hotel before the opening and was blown away. The designers have a knack for bringing the sophistication of a bygone age in harmony with up-to-date with modern amenities, creating an inviting space for both locals and tourists a like. The Hotel Emma is proof of what happens when tons of money meets really good taste.
Visitors will be stunned as they walk into the lobby—a carefully curated space with exposed brick, old brewery equipment, beautiful light fixtures and an wide-open airy feel. Sternewirth, the congregating room just beyond the lobby, features a bar with an impressive selections of spirits and quirky places to meet, such as in an old fermentation tank. This space should further solidify the Alamo City as a place to imbibe craft cocktails.
For the bookworm, there is a multi-level library. It’s the perfect getaway, whether you’re reading the latest best-seller on your Kindle or one of the 3,700 volumes on the shelves from the collection of cultural historian Sherry Kafka Wagner.
While the actual hotel rooms may be a little on the smallish side (I did not go to the suites), they are incredibly thought out. I loved seeing the large clawfoot tubs, the bathrobes made by Dos Carolinas and the cocktail utensils to mix your own drink.
With the opening fast approaching, I’m looking forward to spending a night there (and stopping by Sternewirth’s for an Old Fashioned or two).
