Did you hear? A cold front is blowing into town this weekend. Temperatures should only be in the low 90s! Tonight is First Friday down in King William, and many photography exhibits will be on display as September in San Antonio is Fotoseptiembre. Be sure to get out and support the arts tonight. On to the quick bites!
- Are you ready for some football? With the Cowboys notching an opening game win over the NY Giants, football season is finally here! UTSA Football opens tomorrow at 1PM at the Alamodome as they take on Texas A&M Commerce. Looking for a good queso recipe for gameday? Check out my mom’s famous green chile queso that will be a hit before kickoff. Let’s get rowdy San Antonio!
- Last weekend I got to eat at Bliss in Southtown on South Presa (it’s just north of Taco Haven). This was one of the most enjoyable meals that I have had in San Antonio. The menu was amazing (and rotates out nightly), the food was exceptional and our waiter not only knew the offerings inside and out, but he was able to make excellent recommendations. Do not get too full for dessert! I am looking forward to writing more about this one!

This chocolate mousse with a hazelnut crunch was able to tame my sweet tooth… and I only ate half of it!
- NAO is the latest restaurant to open at the Pearl Brewery, and is part of the Culinary Institute of America that is to be a student-staffed. Be sure to check out what local blogger Eva over at Mesa a Mesa had to say about this restaurant that will showcase visiting chefs to San Antonio’s CIA.
