The weather got a little strange in time for Friday the 13th. If you were like me, you got caught in a torrential downpour earlier in the week. I was soaked to the bone just getting from the house to the car. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers, getting the rain is always a good thing — let’s just hope it stays away over the weekend! On to the quick bites…
- Looking for one of the best happy hours in town? Look no further than Lüke down on the River Walk. From 3:00 until 6:00PM, you can get half off a wide variety of beers, not to mention 50 cent meat pies and dollar pretzels. The pretzels are enormous and come with a spicy horseradish mustard that will clear up your sinuses. They also have oysters and sliders on sale as well, but I have been too happy with the meat pies and pretzels to try something new.

Two meat pies, giant pretzel and a Dixie beer for $4 — a happy hour that will leave you full enough to not want dinner!
- San Antonio Jane made some Oreo Brownie cupcakes from a recipe that she found on Pinterest. It’s crumbled Oreos mixed in with the brownie batter and topped with an Oreo cream cheese icing. Let me tell you that these bad boys are pretty rich and worth the calories!
- The Alamo Drafthouse is bringing back their free rolling roadshow back to the Pearl Brewery’s outdoor amphitheater. For the remainder of July, they are going to be showcases films from the Western genre, kicking off with a quote-along of the Three Amigos (1986) starting tomorrow night at 8:00PM, Red River (1948) on July 20th and Serenity (2005) on July 27th. The movies at the Pearl are a lot of fun to kick back and have a little outdoor fun!
- On Saturday at 10:00AM there will be the first ever San Antonio Neighborhood Instameet. I wanted to put together this meetup so that Instagrammers could meet together every month or so to take pictures of different neighborhoods in our great city. To kick it off, I decided to start with the heart of San Antonio and have a downtown theme. Click the link above for more info and to sign up if you would like to come!
